Post peel care, until the skin has fully recovered
- 1Gentle cleansing: use a mild, fragrance free cleanser and lukewarm water. Do not scrub.
- 2Moisturisation: apply a bland, fragrance free moisturiser suitable for sensitive skin, unless your treating clinician gives different instructions for your peel.
- 3Sun protection: use broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen daily and minimise direct sun exposure.
- 4Do not pick peeling skin: let flakes shed naturally to reduce the risk of scarring and dark marks.
- 5Avoid active ingredients: stop retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, bleaching creams and other irritating products until the skin has recovered and your clinician advises restarting them.
- 6Avoid additional treatments: do not wax, thread, use depilatory creams or have another peel on the treated area while it recovers.
- 7Avoid heat and friction: avoid activities that cause excessive heat, sweating or rubbing if these aggravate the treated skin.
Sun Protection Advice: For optimal results and to prevent melanin rebound, apply PurEA broad-spectrum SPF every morning and reapply during prolonged daytime exposure.
